Schalke have won the race to sign Netherlands striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from AC Milan.
The 27-year-old frontman was strongly linked with a move to the Premier League with Tottenham but has now completed a switch to the Bundesliga.
Schalke have paid around £10million to sign the former PSV, Ajax and Real Madrid striker, who struggled to make much of an impact during just one season in Serie A.
He now joins former Madrid team-mate Raul at the Arena AufSchalke.
"Negotiations were tougher than expected," explained Schalke coach Felix Magath.
"I am happy to have Klaas-Jan. He will help us."
