Tottenham have confirmed that an agreement is in place to bring Holland international Rafael van der Vaart from Real Madrid to White Hart Lane. Spurs only emerged as contenders to sign the midfielder a few hours before Tuesday's transfer deadline and it was initially unclear whether they had been able to conclude a deal in time. It was understood that Tottenham had missed the cut-off point to finalise the paperwork and requested special dispensation from the Premier League to sign Van der Vaart. A statement has now been released on the club's official website to clear up the confusion and announce that the move has been approved. And the Premier League said in a statement: "The Premier League can confirm the transfer of Rafael van der Vaart's registration from Real Madrid Van der Vaart, who has scored 16 goals in 83 appearances for Holland, is thought to have joined for a fee of around £8million. Madrid earlier denied Harry Redknapp's Sporting director Miguel Pardeza "It's now up to the Premier League to accept the signing so that we can make it official. "It is absolutely false that Real Madrid received a 21million euro offer from Bayern Munich for Van der Vaart. "In fact, the German team never showed an interest to sign the player, so the allegations made in England have greatly surprised us." to Tottenham Hotspur.

Rafael van der Vaart could stay at Real Madrid this season, although the white club had agreed to his transfer to Tottenham Hotspurs English. However, the documentation could come when the English market was already closed. The uncertainty over the player will still remain a few hours, since some sources claim that the pact was made within the period and others that reached out. The Premier has the last word.
Tottenham made contact with Real Madrid close to the time the closing bell to request the transfer of the Dutchman. Madrid's response is that only accept a transfer. Then both sides began to negotiate and set a price: 11 million euros. The player, who still has three years left on his contract with Madrid, also reached agreement with Tottenham. The problem is when it sent the documentation to the Premier, which closed within signings at six o'clock.
The operation therefore depends on the response of the body that governs the Premiership, which could occur this afternoon. Tottenham coach, Harry Redknapp, said: "The signing is eternal. We have to wait if it is valid or not. We thought we were going to sell it at Bayern for 20 million and suddenly the price fell to 11 and that is a price very affordable for a player of his quality. It is a star that will give us a plus. We also had an interest in Ryan Babel, but never came close. "
In Madrid and was succeeded by a similar case in the market last winter when Gago negotiated the transfer of Manchester City for 18 million, but exceeded the deadline closed for transactions.
Van der Vaart Mourinho not displeased, but neither would have much opportunity and the offer from Tottenham for the club was irrechazable white.
If you leave the Netherlands, Real would get 24 players and could register all Professional League, although he would have liked to third exit, Mamadou Diarra of Mali. The offers for him were less and less amount and also the work was not leaving, especially when out of contract next season.
Van der Vaart joined Real Madrid in August 2008 from Hamburg. For white club he paid 13 million euros. During these two seasons has played 71 games and scored 12 goals, but it was a permanent fixture. Only during the period in which Kaka was injured last season had a leading role on the team.
