Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has admitted his surprise at the recruitment of Brazil international Robinho and has thanked club supremo Silvio Berlusconi for making the move happen. The Rossoneri pulled off some terrific coups in the waning days of the summer transfer period, landing striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Barcelona on a loan deal and playmaker Robinho from Manchester City on a permanent contract.
Allegri is understandably buoyant about the new signings but admits that he was caught by surprise at the arrival of Robinho.
“I didn't expect a reinforcement like Robinho. He is a player of great calibre," he told Milan Channel.
“We are talking about a wonderful present from Berlusconi, who I would like to thank again with all my heart.
"I am also very happy with his [Zlatan Ibrahimovic's] arrival.”
